About Me
Jill de Bushwick is a native New Yorker, hailing from Bushwick, Brooklyn. One of her earliest memories of music was that records were always being played in the house. My parents had a deep connection through music and passed it on to me.
Jill de Bushwick would listen to the who’s who of Jazz and so many other genres. Block parties during the summer months also left a music impression on her. “ That was a time
when djs dragged around all their equipment, you’d hear these beats and dance songs long before you arrived on the block, it’s a beautiful memory.” Taping music off the radio and listening to records was something Jill de Bushwick always did.
She had bought her own vinyl throughout the years but it would be her parent’s vinyl collection that lead her to djing.
Jill de Bushwick was lucky to be exposed to so much music that she incorporates it all in her dj style. You really don’t know what you’ll hear next and that’s the best surprise! “When a dj can create such a fun vibe for a crowd, that’s the best feeling.”
